The Watermill Gallery will be heading the Glasgow Art Fair next week, catch us at stand 39 from the 25th March.
We will be taking with us some of our new aquisitions. We have new works by Heron, Miro, Scott, Marini and Pasmore as well as work by Banksy, Picasso, Hirst, Kapoor and more... We will also be exclusively previewing a new work by Alan Davie: Grangemouth Image at this year's Art Fair
The print has been produced to mark Davie's 90th birthday, later this year. It has been published with the aim of raising finance towards an exhibition of the artist’s work in the Falkirk area where he was born.
The image is based around an earlier small drawing, the artist being keen to see ‘something small made large’. The end-result, Grangemouth Image, is a powerful and vibrant print that is instantly recognisable as coming from Davie’s hand.
The work is in an edition of 50 copies, each signed and numbered by Davie. It is a six-colour screenprint on Somerset Textured 300gsm paper, proofed and printed by master art printer Kip Gresham at The Print Studio in Cambridge. The sheet size is 88cm x 76cm and the image 71cm x 56cm. The print is £550 unframed.
Glasgow Art Fair takes place in George Square, and runs form 25th - 28th March, with the private view on Wednesday 24th March. More deatails can be found at www.glasgowartfair.com
We hope to see you there!

Amazon pays NO UK tax on £3.3bn sales - (Guardian 5/4/12). But it takes government money for its new distribution centre and its lorries use the roads. Its employees will use hospitals, schools and public transport. It's time to boycott these giants who wilfully avoid taxes.
