If you are looking for a bit of New Year reading inspiration, Kevin has recently been reading...At The Loch of the Green Corrie: Beautiful writing, easily mixing together the memory of poet Norman MacCaig with a ‘boys’ fishing trip into the wilderness of Assynt. Greig has an outstanding ability to ‘get beneath the skin’ of being in the outdoors. When he writes of being in the mountains and wild landscapes it is as reflection rather than as an adventurer. Spies in the Balkans: If you like John Le Carre’s books, I am sure you will enjoy Alan Furst’s political/spy thrillers. Set in the early part of the Second War, it gives an clear insight to the intrigue and manouvering that preceeded the invasion of Greece in 1941.
